Annual Report - Report Made by the Directors of a company to its shareholders at the end of each accounting year, containing (a) Directors’ report outlining a review of the company’s operations during the year, a summary, of its financial results, and future projections, if any, (b) Auditors’ report, (c) Balance Sheet, (d) Profit and loss account, and (e) Schedules explaining items on the balance sheet and profit and loss account. Company law requires all companies to prepare such a report and mail it to the shareholders. A recent amendment in the Company Law, however, permits a company to send an abridged report to shareholders, who nevertheless have the right to obtain a full report.

It is a yearly record of a publicly held company's financial condition. It includes a description of the firm's operations, as well as balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement information. SEC rules require that it be distributed to all shareholders.The annual report is issued yearly by public corporations to its shareholders, and contains the detailed financial and business information required by law. The front part of an annual report often contains marketing material such as impressive graphics and narrative highlights about the company's successes over the past year. This term also can refer to the document filed with the SEC containing all the information required of an annual report by the proxy rules, and more.

Semi Annual Report The report of all receipts and expenditures for a six month period. The reporting periods for the semi-annual report are from January 1 through June 30 and from July 1 through December 31. The report must be filed by July 31 and by January 31, respectively. A semi-annual report must be filed by all political committees regardless of whether they have been actively supporting or opposing candidates or propositions during the six month period.

In India, Many companies announce their quarterly results (3 Month Performance Report) also.
