Contract Note A note sent by a broker to his client stating that he has bought or sold a certain number of shares or a certain amount of commodities according to his client’s instructions. It specifies the quantity, price, and date of the transaction. If the broker’s commission is not included in the price, the not e will mention the commission charge. The note should be preserved carefully, not only for any discrepancies in the delivery, but also for the taxman when one is submitting returns for capital gains or loss.
