Dry Run Portfolio An imaginary portfolio of shares, constructed and monitored regularly by an investor over a period of time without actually buying the shares. Buying and selling decisions are taken from time to time on this portfolio. The periodic evaluation gives the investor experience of the ups and downs of the stock market, and he can learn from his mistakes at no financial cost. In course of time the investor acquires confidence to actually invest in the stock market. A valuable learning exercise, provided there is no cheating. Also called PAPER TRADE.
