General Price – Level – Accounting (GPLA) An approach for taking account of the impact of inflation on financial statements of companies. As a result of inflation companies may report higher earnings and higher profits from year to year, when the inflation – adjusted figures may to show any real improvement. GPLA takes into account changes in the general price level, and not those of individual items which are taken care of by CURRENT VALUE ACCOUNTING (CVA).
