Gif Tax, Avoidance of In order to reduce the burden of taxation on the inheritors of one’s property after one dies, a certain amount of money or goods can be gifted away each year without attracting ay taxes. At present, the value of such tax – free gifts is a maximum of Rs 30,000. Any amount above that will attract gift tax. Gifts made under a Will are free of gift tax.
