Inventory A value entered on the balance sheet of a company of the firm’s raw materials, work in progress, materials used in operations or manufacture, and finished gods. The valuation may be made on the LAST – IN – FIRST – OUT method or FIRST – IN – FIRST – OUT method.
The term also means the net security position, long or short, that a dealer or an investor has in a share. See POSITION. |
