Letter of Renunciation A set document issued by a company to a shareholder in a rights issue, by means of which the shareholder can renounce, in part or in full, his right to additional shares in favour of a third party. These letters of renunciation can be sold in the market, if the company’s shares are sought after and the terms of the rights offer are attractive.
