Registrar of Companies An official appointed by the Government of India to scrutinize the “Memorandum of Association’, and the “Articles of Association’ which the promoters of a company draft and submit to him. If he finds these in order, he will give his approval to the formation of the company through a “Certificate of Incorporation’. The Registrar keeps all the documents of a company formed under the Companies Act 1956, and any subsequent amendments of a company’s rules have to be notified to and approved by him.
