Prudence Concept

Prudence Concept A true and fair view of a company’s accounts would rather err on the side of caution than give recognition to profit as yet unrealized, but most likely to accrue. On the other hand, it would take into account foreseeable losses as soon as these can be foreseen. This might seem a little pessimistic but on the whole, most accountants prefer prudence to indiscretion.
